Meet Dr. Anna Towne of Strong Core Mama

In July 2026, we were fortunate to spend time with pelvic floor expert Dr. Anna Towne, DPT, founder of Strong Core Mama. Anna is not only an accomplished pelvic floor physical therapist, but also a classmate and longtime friend of ours from high school, which made this visit especially meaningful. Dr. Towne built Strong Core Mama to help moms restore and rebuild their core and pelvic floor with evidence-based, at-home programs designed for real life. Her background includes years of experience treating thousands of patients, sports medicine physical therapy, and advanced training in pelvic floor and pre/postnatal rehab.

Why Her Work Matters

Pelvic floor therapy can be incredibly helpful after pregnancy and childbirth, but it is often hard to access. Appointments may be booked out for weeks, and for many new moms, finding childcare and carving out time to leave the house is its own challenge. That barrier means too many women go without the help they need and deserve postpartum. Strong Core Mama helps remove those obstacles by offering structured online programs that can be done from home, without appointments, childcare, or special equipment.

Dr. Anna’s Background

Anna is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a focus on pelvic floor and core rehabilitation for moms. Her story includes a transition from sports medicine into pelvic floor care after her own difficult pregnancy and postpartum recovery experiences, including C-sections, pain, and the frustration of trying to find reliable guidance. Her Strong Core Mama story highlights that she has treated thousands of patients and has used her own pregnancy and postpartum experiences to shape the programs she now offers. She also notes that her approach blends education, breathwork, core retraining, and progressive exercise so moms can rebuild safely and confidently.

Programs She Offers Strong Core Mama offers several programs for different stages of motherhood and recovery. These include:

  • Strong Core Mama - General postpartum core and pelvic floor rehab, vaginal or cesarean moms Helpful for patients needing a structured rebuild of core function, pressure management, and pelvic floor coordination.
  • Strong Running Mama - Active moms returning to running and higher-impact exercise Great for patients wanting to return to golf, triathlon training, running, or other sports with better trunk stability and less leakage risk.
  • Strong C-Section Mama - Moms recovering from cesarean delivery Supports scar healing, core reactivation, and a more confident return to movement after C-section.
  • Strong Expecting Mama - Pregnant moms wanting a pain-free pregnancy and preparation for delivery and postpartum Can help reduce pregnancy discomfort and improve readiness for postpartum recovery.
  • Strong Healing Mama - Early postpartum recovery Useful for gentle early healing and safe re-entry into exercise after baby. Workshops Educational hands-on workshops, including virtual and in-person options A good option for patients who want a more guided learning experience or quick skill-building around breathing, pressure, and pelvic floor mechanics.

How Patients Benefit

For Synergy Health patients, these programs can complement chiropractic and functional medicine care very well. They may be especially helpful for women dealing with diastasis recti, low back pain, hip pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, scar-related tension, or the “I want to get back to exercise but I do not know where to start” feeling. The biggest advantage is accessibility. Anna’s programs are designed so moms can do them at home, in small chunks of time, without waiting weeks for an appointment or arranging childcare.

YouTube Resource

Dr. Anna also shares educational content through her Strong Core Mama YouTube channel, which can be a helpful place for moms to learn about core rehab, pelvic floor exercise, postpartum recovery, and safe progression back to activity. Her video content reflects the same practical, exercise-based education found in her programs.
